Hey, I’m Liesel!
I am a labor and delivery nurse, mom, wife and business owner! I started Mommy Labor Nurse in February of 2018 as a way to educate more moms in the online space about birth and postpartum. After having such a fulfilling birth experience at my hospital, I felt that I wanted to educate other moms in hopes that more women feel empowered and educated about motherhood, instead of scared and anxious. I have always had a passion for educating women and thoroughly enjoy spreading knowledge and awareness about what’s to come!

Newborn Basics 101
I absolutely loved this course! I am a FTM and my due date is just a few weeks away and I loved being able to read through the content! There are SO many basic things I learned in this course that I never would have thought of – like packing extra clothes for me in the diaper bag or that it can take up to 3 weeks for baby to lose their umbilical cord stump! I also LOVE that I can go back and reference this once baby is here! Liesel made me feel so much more confident about bringing baby home. I highly recommend this course, especially to FTMs!

Overall, my labor exceeded my expectations! As a FTM I feel like people tell you a lot of horror stories…but I couldn’t have asked for a better, more empowering labor experience. From start to finish it was about 12 hours. The epidural was completely worth it. My husband was by my side the whole time and helped me through the pushes. It was amazing to see him get emotional throughout the process of becoming a father.

When does the course start and finish?
You have full, on-demand, lifetime access as soon as you enroll! That means you can start or revisit the course whenever you want for life.
How long do I have access to the course?
After enrolling, you have unlimited, lifetime access to your class. This means that you can enroll at any point in your pregnancy and access (or revisit) the course whenever the timing is right! You can even access it again as you prepare for future births!
How can I access this class?
You can access this class on your phone, tablet, desktop, laptop, and/or smart TV. All Mommy Labor Nurse classes are housed in the online learning platform Teachable.
i’m unsure if i want a natural birth or with an epidural. Which course should i choose?
If you are unsure, we recommend enrolling in Birth It Up: The Natural Series. The Natural Series still includes comprehensive information related to epidurals and other medical pain interventions but will also prepare you to go natural if you decide that is the best fit for you!
Birth It Up: The Epidural Series is designed for mamas that are certain they want an epidural and covers the epidural process with more detail.
What if I’m interested in more than one class?
We recommend checking out our bundle! When you purchase a bundle, you get access to the birth class of your choice PLUSÂ Newborn Basics 101 at a special discounted price.
Is this class helpful for my support person?
Yes! We have a specific section addressing exactly how your support person can help. There’s also a guide within the class that recommends which sections are most important for partners to watch if they do not want to watch the whole class.
Is Birth It Up HSA/FSA eligible?
Birth It Up: The Natural Series and Birth It Up: The Epidural Series are eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement under most insurance plans. Check with your medical plan to see if it is covered and if they require any documentation for reimbursement.
When is the best time to take an online birthing class?
While you can take an online birthing class at any point in pregnancy, we think the best time is at the end of your 2nd trimester/early in the 3rd trimester. This will allow the information to still be fresh on your mind if you get to your due date, while also ensuring you are prepared in the event of a pre-term delivery. With our lifetime access, you can even do quick refresher as you get closer to your delivery date.
