This week on the podcast we have part 2 of Addie’s story featuring birth after infant death. If you missed last week, she shared all about her pregnancy and emergency C-Section with her first daughter, Sophie.
Sophie died shortly after birth due to what can only be described as negligence on the part of her labor and delivery team. If you haven’t listened to that episode yet, it is emotional but gives context to today’s part of the story.
Here in part 2, you’ll hear Addie share about the birth of her rainbow baby, and then in her words, her pot of gold baby – an empowering VBAC after two previous C-Sections. Like I said last week, Addie is a fabulous storyteller and it was an absolute pleasure to have her on the show.
I do want to give a trigger warning before we get into this week’s episode. Addie does discuss birth after stillbirth, grief, and birth trauma, so if you’re not in a place to listen to this type of story I invite you to close out of this episode and we’ll reconnect next week.
Otherwise, let’s get right back in where we left off last week!

About Addie Wyman
Addie is a 25-year-old mother of three currently living in Florida with her two living children, Belle and Alex. Her angel baby’s name is Sophie, and she would be almost 3 this year.
Currently, she is pursuing her degree in nursing – where she hopes to specialize in labor and delivery! Her hobbies include golf, makeup, and thrift shopping. She also has a Twitch channel where she plays a variety of games.
Addie’s hope in sharing her story is that those who are facing a loss, of any kind, will find comfort and solace in knowing that they are not alone – there are others who have been in the same place. And, of course, giving her daughter Sophie – and all the other babies taken far too soon – the voice they deserve.
