1. Put it on a shirt

A really cute way to share your big news is by wearing a t-shirt to a Mother’s Day gathering! Etsy has the *cutest* ideas to make this one happen. And if your family isn’t close in distance, hop on Facetime and see how long it takes them to catch on!

2. A letterboard Mother’s Day announcement

There’s a reason so many use a letterboard to document monumental life events. They are cute, easy, and convenient!

What’s more, you can use it for monthly updates throughout your pregnancy and then continue using it to announce milestones after baby is born!

Tailor it to be Mother’s Day themed with a catchy phrase, or put an ultrasound picture on it – truly so many directions to go with this one, so let your creativity shine!

3. “Mother’s Day gift on backorder until (due date) “

Pair this card with your first ultrasound picture for a Mother’s Day pregnancy announcement that will be remembered forever!

And if you’re looking to take it up a notch, don’t include any details inside the card. Instead throw a onesie or “Grandma-to-be” sweatshirt into a gift bag to keep the suspense going!

4. Coffee mug

Have a coffee lover in your life? Does that coffee lover happen to be the future grandmother or grandfather to the little one in your belly? If the answer to both of these questions is “Yes!” then share your news with a custom coffee mug!

And for an even bigger surprise, purchase a mug that has “We’re having a baby!” on the bottom so the surprise comes after the entire cup is drank!

5. Put it on a onesie

If you are already planning on giving your mom a gift for Mother’s Day, consider including a onesie with it to announce your exciting news! The shock value is amazing, and there are a lot of directions you can take this by tailoring the words to fit whoever you are sharing your announcement with.

6. Booties or baby shoes

I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to share it with you! Wrap a little pair of baby booties or shoes as a present and include this note with it, “No need for ties and suits, however, you will need these boots. For an adventure awaits this year, as your grandchild will soon be here!”

This particular phrase is geared more towards a baby boy but I just know there are plenty out there that are gender neutral or more appropriate for a baby girl.

7. Incorporate jewelry

Most commonly I have seen this done with a personalized disc on a necklace, but you can also do it with a bracelet or ring. If you go with a necklace, you can add on a disc with your baby’s name and keep adding as more babies enter the world. This is a gift that is sure to touch the heart of anyone that receives it!

8. Mother’s Day brunch

Planning to get together for brunch on Mother’s Day? While you’re there, make a toast or give a small gift to the group. This is a great way to tell everyone at once and see their reactions at the same time.

9. Bun in the oven

Another great idea if brunch is in store for you this Mother’s Day! If you are sharing your news at someone’s house, put a bun in the oven and pull it out when the time is right.

And if you are at a restaurant or an oven isn’t easily accessible, wear a shirt that says, “I’ve got a bun in the oven.” You can even make a fun game of it with your partner and bet on who notices the shirt first!

10. Scratch-off card

Looking for a creative idea that is sure to provide a big shock to your family?! Order a custom scratch-off pregnancy announcement card to give to your mom on Mother’s Day! You can have these made on Etsy with your big news (and due date!) hidden underneath the scratcher.
